Slime Ingredients for home school (ST-018)

Item: 20 g of powdered Poly Vinyl Alcohol (PVA) and 2g of powdered Sodium Borate. These are great for home school, scouts, or any number of "at home" chemistry activities. This should be enough for 8-12 kids to make slime.  Shipping is INCLUDED to the US. Sorry, I will not ship out of the US

The story: I recently ran a session at the Cub Scout "Pow Wow" in the Occoneechee (NC) council on science. In my workshop I had the adults make slime. I had to buy 500g of PVA and 100g of sodium borate, WAY more than I needed for the workshop (purchased from Flinn Scientific). I packaged up "kits" for the attendees, but had some packets left over. To recoup my costs, I am selling these.


  • 20 g of Poly Vinyl Alcohol powder, enough to make 500 ml of this safe solution (non-caustic, non-hazardous). This requires about 20 minutes to "cook" via microwave - instructions included.
  • 2 g of Sodium Borate powder, enough to make 50 ml of solution (very slightly caustic, but that is before dilution).
  • Chemical data sheets of both powders.
  • Educational/experimental sheet for handouts (note: to make slime, kids just mix 40-50 ml of PVA solution to 4-5 ml of Sodium Borate solution).
